Once we changed the strategic positioning of the company, we started surprising our customers with the phrase: “We no longer sell packaging!” suggesting that we change the attitude to it by unlocking its potential at every phase of its life cycle
This approach results in the economic effect and positive emotions of the result for each of our customers. This is our main goal and to achieve it we had to completely shift our approach to sales, switching to another level of relationship with the customer: by expand communications, establishing a linear interaction of experts, providing a clear understanding of the objectives of each functional area related to packaging, as well as the specific features and limitations at every stage of its use.
In developing our cooperation, we are gradually passing through three stages of relationship development:
Trust
The relationships cannot be developed without trust. This requires us to be consistent, honest, reliable and predictable in our actions. The highest level of professional trust is when our strategic customers are confident in our competence and they come to us with the most complex and important projects aimed at creating new packaging solutions, packaging process optimization, and we take full responsibility for successful implementation of these projects.
Cooperation
By expanding the "contact patch", our cooperation moves from the "organization – organization" level to the "team – team" level. Functional specialists from production, logistics and marketing services participate in these teams on both sides. The team form of work contributes to a better understanding of the needs and capabilities of all participants, which facilitates the joint achievement of the planned result at various stages of projects, thus creating a collective additional customer value. To improve the teamwork efficiency, for our part we create and use the infrastructure that enables us to exceed the expectations of our customers.
Integration
We consider the possibility of implementing the long-term (over a 3-5 years horizon) large-scale projects in cooperation with our customers, as well as carry out some of the operations and even processes related to packaging. We realize that this form of cooperation will be in demand in cases when the supplier's expertise guarantees the customer the best possible result. And we consider it a challenge to become helpful for each functional area of the customer in order to achieve this result in conjunction with the customer.
We believe that this is the way (from trust to integration) that will facilitate the achievement of joint strategic goals.
