Gotek Group took part in the business program of the UPAKEXPO-2023 exhibition
From January 24 to 27, Moscow hosts the International Specialized Exhibition of Packaging machinery and Ready-made Packaging Solutions UPAKEXPO-2023. Representatives of the Gotek Group participated in the business program. Within the framework of the Upak Solution program the "Import substitution in the Russian packaging market. What we managed to do" conference was held. It was organized by the National Confederation of Packers. Among the speakers with a presentation on the topic "What is the coming year preparing for us? Prerequisites for the development of the market situation" was made by Konstantin Glushenkov, the Director of the Client Management Department of Gotek Group.

Among the key macroeconomic factors of last year, Konstantin Yurievich noted the sanctions pressure, the dynamics of the ruble exchange rate, inflation and employment. The total number of sanctions against our country, companies and individual citizens already totals more than 10 thousand, new ones are regularly announced. This has led to significant restrictions both in terms of exports and imports. The dynamics of the ruble exchange rate, namely its sharp fall, and then strengthening against not only the dollar and the euro, but also the national currencies of the nearest countries, led to a decrease in the competitiveness of exporters and gave opportunities to importers who did not fall under sanctions. In this regard, Konstantin Yurievich separately noted the changes that have occurred in the supply chains, which have undergone significant changes. Despite this, about 75.9% of foreign companies, some of which have changed their brand, remained on the Russian market.
At the same time, there have been significant changes in the structure of consumer demand. There is a trend towards overall savings, the rejection of expensive purchases and spending on recreation and entertainment. And this shopping savings strategy will continue into 2023: 72% of Russian shoppers take action to save money, 61% choose stores with lower prices, and 41% choose discounted items. The consumer's reaction to the change in the assortment will be the choice of quality at an affordable price. The share of goods under retailers' own trademarks is increasing at double-digit rates, new products and brands at lower prices are coming to replace the usual ones.
Under the current conditions, according to Konstantin Yuryevich, in 2023 the trend towards efficient packaging will dominate, which allows to ensure the safety of the product at all stages of the supply chain with the minimum allowable material consumption, increase operational efficiency in terms of logistics and production processes and has a better selling ability that promotes differentiation and promotion of goods on the shelf.

She presented to the audience a study of the selling power of packaging "How buyers perceive SRP".
