Gotek Group announces the closing of the sale of the business of Gotek-Litar JSC

After approval by the antitrust authorities and fulfillment of other conditions, the Gotek Group completed the transaction with the Danish company Brødrene Hartmann A/S on 25.01.2021 to sell one of its assets to Gotek-Litar JSC.

Gotek-Litar is one of the leaders on the Russian market of transport and retail egg packaging produced from molded paper fiber.
The deal was closed at the previously announced selling price of 116 million Danish kroner, or 1.4 billion rubles.

Brødrene Hartmann A/S is the world's leading manufacturer of paper fiber packaging for eggs and fruit, as well as the world's largest manufacturer of process equipment for the production of this packaging.

One of the main motivations for the sale on the part of the Gotek Group was the belief that Hartmann, as the world market leader, would be able to develop Gotek-Litar much faster and on a larger scale, and that the Gotek Group, having increased its financial strength, would focus on the more dynamic development of its corrugated cardboard business as well as Gotek-Print and Gotek-Polipak.

The entry of Gotek-Litar into the international Hartmann Group will open new opportunities for further development and expansion of the business, as well as provide access to the latest technologies and products. As part of the deal, Gotek-Litar has signed long-term cooperation agreements with the Gotek Group, the essence of which is to obtain services from the group and continue to develop a management culture whose value is recognized by Hartmann.
