Enterprise Group "Gotek" opened an Innovation Center in Leningrad region
Today, a modern Innovation Center equipped with unique design and testing laboratory equipment has been opened at the production site of the Enterprise Group "Gotek" in Leningrad region. The opening ceremony was attended by the General Manager of the Management Company Konstantin Kurov, Director of JSC "Gotek North-West" Sergey Borodin, heads of enterprises and divisions of the company, employees and customers of "Gotek". On this day, they were given excursions around the Innovation Center and demonstrated new "Gotek’s" capabilities in the field of development, research and testing of packaging at all stages of its life cycle.
The Innovation Center is equipped with the most modern laboratory equipment having no analogues in Russia, which was developed specifically for the company with the direct participation of the company’s engineers.
The technical equipment of the Workshop area of the Innovation Center allows company specialists and customers to develop prototypes of packaging solutions quickly, within one working session; to reproduce their design at the level of industrial printing technology, and to check the ease of use of the packaging by the buyer in the retail chain.
The center's simulation laboratory is equipped with a climate chamber to simulate atmospheric influences (simulation of humidity changes up to 90% and freezing down to – 35° C); a vibration stand that reproduces dynamic loads during road transport; automatic line to check the formation of a packaging solution on an automatic line; an "acceleration-deceleration" stand, which creates the corresponding processes during road and rail transportation; drop tester for simulating in-warehouse movements with simulating the fall of a box with a product. This equipment will allow the company's customers not to carry out long and costly logistics and production tests, replacing them with laboratory tests.
The testing laboratory of the Innovation Center has become "a new word" in the field of corrugated production. It provides opportunities to conduct research no one has previously done in Russia. It is possible to measure quality parameters such as box opening force, bending force, tearing force of glued parts, adhesive tape adhesion force, air permeability and roughness of cardboard and paper, paint abrasion force and many others. All this will allow creating high-quality new packaging in the shortest possible time.
